Where should we begin? Basics, I suppose. I’m Mike. I’m 22 years old, 5’11, brown hair, brown eyes, 12 inch p…. oh. Whoops. Wrong profile. I am a student at EWU, getting my major in Computer Science / Multimedia. Now for some just random info: The following three things are my top 3 obsessions… 1) Dave Matthews Band… what more can I say. So many of my favorite songs/lyrics come from them. “I can’t believe we would lie in our graves, wondering if we had spent our living days well…” I go see them in concert every summer, and every summer they get better. Other music groups I love are Ben Folds, Cake, Eve 6, Barenaked Ladies, Guster, John Mayer, stuff like that. 2) RENT is my favorite musical ever. The soundtrack, the story, the cast, the set, the dancing… all of it is 100% enthralling for me. From the first time I heard the CD that day while working in the library (I found it at random), I was hooked. When RENT came to Spokane, I saw it not once, not twice, but 3 times (it only played 4). The last night I went, my friend Ian and I made signs for the cast, and got all of their autographs. We are nerds. There are a few other musicals that I love. Phantom of the Opera (who doesn’t love this show?!), Chess (written by Tim Rice and the 2 guys from ABBA… it’s GREAT!), Tick, Tick…. BOOM! (written by Jonathan Larson, the guy who made RENT), Sweeney Todd, Titanic: The Musical, and a couple others. 3) Myst is my favorite computer game of all time. I am obsessed with all things related to Myst. The story is so great, and the fact that the Miller brothers put so much thought into this game, creating a surrealistic world that you could just become a part of, was brilliant. I have read all of the novels (The Book of Ti’ana, The Book of Atrus, The Book of D’ni), I own all of the games, I am the moderator of LiveJournal’s only Myst community, ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif){kind=small} myst_library , and I can even speak a tiny bit of D’ni (the language in Myst). The company that created Myst (Cyan Worlds) is actually in Spokane, and right now they are working on Uru (which is an ancient D’ni word for City), which will be Myst Online. This game is going to be the ultimate game ever, and I am HIGHLY anticipating it’s completion. I applied to be a beta tester, but so did a billion other people… sigh. I work for the Federal Government, but I can't tell you what I do, or I would have to kill you. Ahh movies… there is nothing better than watching a movie to escape your own reality for a couple of hours. I’m a movie NUT. I used to work at AMC Theaters as a projection manager, and I pretty much saw EVERY movie for those 2 1⁄2 years. I have been known to have entire conversations that contain NOTHING but movie quotes. Some of my favorite movies are: Moulin Rouge, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Final Destination, Donnie Darko, A.I., Bring It On, Cecil B. Demented, Zoolander, Hercules, Legally Blonde, Austin Powers (all 3 of them), Lilo and Stich, Aladdin, The Emperor’s New Groove, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, The Goonies, Bubble Boy, Jurassic Park, Event Horizon, The Matrix, American Beauty, Resident Evil, America’s Sweethearts, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone… this list could go on for AGES. The greatest line in music ever written is from Alanis Morissette’s You Oughta Know: “…and every time I scratch my nails down someone else’s back, I hope you feel it.” Video games are great. My favorite arcade game is and probably always will be Dance Dance Revolution. You can buy it now for the PS2 (I own it, DDRMax is great!), and now you can even get the pads at a lot of stores now! It’s finally becoming popular! I’m a big fan of computer games as well, my favorites (for my absolute favorite, see above…) being Jedi Knight (both I and II), Quake, System Shock 2, Unreal Tournament, The Sims, stuff like that. As for consoles, I own all 3 of them (Xbox, PS2, and GameCube... and I wonder why I am poor…), and my favorites for those are Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 10, Kingdom Hearts, GTA, GTA:Vice City, 007, Crazy Taxi, Mario Party 4, The Legend of Zelda (both Ocarina and Windwaker), Metroid Prime, Prince of Persia, Halo, Halo 2, Fable, LOTR: The Third Age, ect… I want a straightjacket… it would be so cool. The ultimate conversation piece. I know 4 languages. English, Spanish, French, and American Sign Language. I’m not fluent in any of them (no, not even English – just ask my friends), but I know enough to get by if I was in one of those countries. I FIND TIDUS FROM FFX INSANELY ATTRACTIVE… even though he is a computer-generated character. I'm also sort of a cartoon nut. I love them, especially adult cartoons. My favorite ones right now are: Family Guy, Aqua Teen HungerForce, The Simpsons, Daria, Futurama, Spongebob Squarepants, Clone High, ect.
